Exhibition Centre Liverpool

Following a competitive tender, FRA were appointed by The ACC Liverpool Group as the wayfinding and signage consultants for the new world class exhibition and events facility Exhibition Centre Liverpool. It directly connects to the existing facilities at The ACC Liverpool Group making it Europe’s only purpose built interconnected arena, convention and exhibition centre. FRA provided a full turn-key service from strategy and concept design through to project management and implementation of the signage scheme. The strategy seeks to enhance the presence of The ACC Liverpool Group home to Echo Arena, BT Convention Centre and Exhibition Centre Liverpool, whilst providing succinct wayfinding for visitors and the flexibility to allow for event dedicated dialogue and information.

The scheme encompasses approximately 200no internal and external signs and incorporates a variety of different mediums including high level banners, directional totem signs, digital portable totems and digital centre voice screens for event focussed information. Meeting room signs have integrated digital screens to allow for visitor brand focused presentation. The design makes use of large scale pictograms and super graphics to give stand out in the large halls. Externally the presentation and profile is enhanced by an integrated illuminated brand sign and digital welcome screen. Improved mapping and directional signage using LED illuminated totems featuring digital screens connects The ACC Liverpool Group to the wider Liverpool Waterfront and allows for event specific information design.

'FRA have provided professional services to ACC Liverpool in the design, tender and project management of the works to complete wayfinding signage across the Exhibition Centre Liverpool and the wider public realm. I have found them to be thorough and diligent in their management function and to have flair and creativity in the design aspects of the work packages. I would use them again and would recommend them for projects such as the one they were employed for here on site in Liverpool.'
