Grand Central Opens its Doors

We were out in force for the opening of Grand Central Birmingham, the UK’s highest profile retail launch of the year which saw almost 15,000 visitors in the first weekend.

Our team which comprises of Fran Raybould, Creative Director, Jamie Trippier, Project Director, Nick Raybould Design Director, Rachel Trippier Marketing Director and Imogen Smith our Graphic Designer were there to witness the long awaited opening which we have been working on for two years.

The new retail destination boasts a stunning glass atrium and is home to the second biggest John Lewis department store outside of London in addition to 60 premium shops and restaurants spread across the 500,000 sqft site.

Our state of the art wayfinding scheme compliments the breathtaking architectural of this renovated shopping centre and encompasses internal and external signage including fully interactive digital totems and LED illuminated letters.  Other wayfinding elements include a full family of directories, supersized pictograms, welcome signs and all signage to the 450 space car park.  A full case study will follow shortly detailing the project in more depth.
