The redevelopment of County Mall is of key importance to Crawley and has attracted new tenants such as a major Primark and an annual footfall of 9 million visitors. f.r.a. brought the new brand to life by using wayfinding, signage and illumination techniques to inject a sense of contemporary style.
We worked with the architect and lighting designers to refresh the scheme, improve ambience and make it more permeable. Flow patterns through the centre were studied resulting in changes to escalator and lift provisions. A dynamic colour changing light sculpture celebrated the soaring roofscape, bringing colour and energy to the experience.
Our scope included remodelled entrance statements, internal and external wayfinding, promotional signage and 16 floors of car parking. We provided management of the signage package and prototyping, ensuring cost and quality control.
