Having forged a good relationship with IM Properties from our previous work on 55 Colmore Row in Birmingham, we were asked to develop the wayfinding and environmental graphic designs for the new IM Group HQ Campus in Solihull.
We worked closely with architects Webb Gray, interior designers Square Dot, project managers Rider Levitt Bucknall and the client project team to ensure that our designs complimented the architectural design in materials, shape, form and integration.
The scheme reflects the clients desire to create a happy work environment of classic elegance with a human, playful touch and that reflects the business ethos of the group. We used materials such as Corten, stone, steel and iron that age and weather naturally, and product design reflects the shape and form of the spaces and landscaping on the IM Group Campus. Mixed techniques such as a cast iron foundry forged icon finished in tannic acid combine traditional techniques with contemporary concealed LED lighting.
The scheme covered welcome signs for the park, road signs, car parking, security gate and identifier signs for both The Gate HQ building and The Rock, the headquarters for CV charitable trust. We developed bespoke reception signs, environmental graphics, manifestations, notices and pictogram icons to ensure the attention to detail runs throughout the whole scheme.
To ensure that the design intent was fully realised we project managed the manufacture and installation of the scheme on the clients behalf, monitoring cost and quality control.
