Lion Walk sits at the heart of historic Colchester. Our team was commissioned to provide new wayfinding and placemaking interventions to launch the site’s new brand and improve overall circulation and footfall.
The project faced considerable planning constraints including an entrance through a Grade I listed building, an archaeological site and numerous stakeholders.
Through collaborative design our team delivered a suite of solutions well beyond an effective wayfinding system. This included using light projectors to permanently display a work of community authored poetry withing the Grade I listed passage. This unique work of light and typography transformed a forgotten entrance into a landmark for the site.
