Telford’s town vision creates more balanced streets, improved links to interchanges, an enhanced public realm and creates a new public square; Southwater. Southwater connects the town, incorporating restaurants, hotels, cinema, library, and a lake to create dynamic social spaces and bolster the night time economy.

f.r.a. undertook analysis and audit of the connectivity of the town, reviewing the signage and information systems. We facilitated stakeholder consultations assessing requirements to satisfy the needs of council, stakeholders and businesses.

A bespoke visual language, product design and information hierarchy captured the personality of the town. Work included information design, mapping, a new car park, and a digital interface to the wayfinding totems. We managed the scheme from prototyping through to installation. The result gives the council a voice to to promote destinations, events and cross sell assets. The wayfinding makes the town more permeable with a unifying dialogue.
