The Fold was designed to reflect the redevelopment of Croydon and provide a home for the dynamic community moving to this area. Our wayfinding solutions echoed the brand language in a number of ways. Neon signs added energy at the entrance and feature stairs.
The well organised tower features a range of spaces like a sharing library, events room and rooftop terrace with 360 views. The eclectic interiors and energetic brand reflect the community and invite everyone to get involved.
The biggest challenge was bending the rules of fabrication by creating thin but very deep three-dimensional letters by using 3D printing to manufacture the signs. This additive manufacturing technique wasn’t just used for a few special signs, it was used on every floor of the building.
