York and Elder is L&G’s newest community in Brighton. The mid-rise building creates 209 new homes and amenities mixed with ground floor retail and offices. The project brand reflects Brighton’s artistic and environmentally sensitive community. The ground floor features a massive work of public art wrapping the entire building and a local illustrator was used for many of the graphics.
Collaborating with the client’s team, we developed wayfinding solutions using a wide variety of techniques with a focus on sustainable manufacturing methods. Signs were used minimally, the most environmental solution, and where required used sustainably sourced timber and recycled metal with a variety of graphic techniques.
